We're excited to re-introduce ourselves

The best way to start is at the beginning. Not just the moment we created Joyn, but all the moments that taught us firsthand what it’s like to build and manage a community of our own.


The beginning 🏁

We founded a mental health Employee Resource Group (ERG) in 2019. Our goal was simple: create a community of support for any employees facing mental or physical challenges. While our goal was straightforward, achieving it wasn’t. Even with support from our organization, we often felt like we were starting from scratch when it came to how to structure our ERG, managing our budget, finding speakers, measuring impact and, maybe most challenging, how to find the time to do all of these things.


We came from an organization and culture that very much valued Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. We also saw the positive impact ERGs had on our employees, yet having that impact at scale to meaningfully move retention and belonging forward remained a struggle. We saw the struggle, we felt the struggle, and now we are building a platform that resolves that struggle for others.


We want to maximize the impact ERGs have and, as a result, make belonging integral to company cultures without the risk of burning ERG leaders out.
